In the over 20 years I’ve been with Sam’s Club, I’ve had many conversations with members about why they join and stay. Members say they love the low prices we offer on the brands they know and trust. Both individuals and businesses appreciate being able to buy in bulk, which offers convenience and even more savings. Our high-quality merchandise, including fresh foods, electronics and pharmacy offerings, also contribute to making Sams Club their favorite place to shop. But most of all, members say they love the excitement they feel while shopping their local club especially when finding unique and brand-name items, like designer eyewear, offered at a great value.

This new year, well continue to give you even more reasons to love shopping at Sams Club. While we can’t control things like the rising cost of health care, we can and dooffer the lowest prices possible on over-the-counter and prescription drugs. Our Optical Centers offer affordable eye care, along with low-cost frames and lenses. By providing in-club immunizations and free health screenings, we can help you get in front of disease and take proactive steps toward living a healthier life. In each club with a Pharmacy, you’ll find knowledgeable Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians who can talk with you about options for getting healthy.

Healthy Living Made Simple is yet another way we strive to support you and your well-being, through content that centers on health awareness, disease prevention and smart solutions. With New Years resolutions currently in the forefront of many members minds, this issue focuses on ways you can go beyond short-term goals to instead from healthy habits that will carry throughout 2013 and beyond. You’ll find articles from experts like Dr. Bill Sears, known as Americas Pediatrician, who offers suggestions on how to get your kids moving. And while healthy eating and exercise are essential, gratitude is a key to total wellness, too; in this issue, you can read life-changing tips on cultivating gratitude from Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra.

Since February is American Heart Health Month, we’ve also focused on providing information about ways to support cardiovascular health. Pharmacist Kyle Rockholt explains why knowing your heart health numbers is so important, even if you feel and look healthy. And expert in nutrition and preventive medicine Dr. Andrew Myers talks about inflammation and why reducing chronic inflammation is so important to heart health.

At Sams Club, were fully committed to supporting your efforts to get (and stay) healthy. This new year, let us be your partner in wellness we promise to do our best to help you meet your goals and thrive.
